Welcome to the fantastic world of Mobypicture’s augmented reality!

People all around the world share their adventures using Mobypicture to all their social networks. From their mobile phone they easily upload photos, video and audio to their friends on networks like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, their blog and numerous other social sites and services.

The Moby Layer lets you explore the latest picture and video postings of other Moby users nearest to you. You can view the content through the mobile phones’ camera in Augmented Reality, or on a map and there is a List view. Clicking the content gives you more info (comments etc.) and options; the routing how to get to the spot where the picture was taken and a link to the content on the Mobypicture website, where the user can get more info and leave a comment themselves.

Report: 3D Augmented Reality Flashmob (Dutch)

Vandaag was het zover. Na weken van voorbereiden was de 3D Augmented Reality Flashmob een feit. Een groep van een kleine honderd mensen gewapend met Android- en iPhones verzamelden zich om 14.00 uur exact bij het Nationaal Monument op de Dam. Om klokslag 14.00 uur kregen de deelnemers aan de eerste 3D Augmented Reality Flashmob de laatste instructies van de organisatoren, Sander Veenhof en TAB Worldmedia. Er werd een grote poster met een QR code midden op het plein gelegd en mensen kregen flyers met de instructies uitgedeeld.

Imagine the Dam Square in Amsterdam filled with statues and odd characters and only you can see them trough the camera of Android- and iPhone. Saturday the 24th of April this is going to be the case.  At exactly 14.00 hours the National Monument on the Dam Square will be surrounded with digital 3D statues that can be viewed in Augmented Reality with the Layar app. The rumour is that even the iconic Beatles will be there crossing the street like in the famous picture on the Abbey road.
